Mary Williams Rozier, 95, died this morning at Palatka Health Care Center folliwing a long illness.
She was born in Fruitland and was a longtime resident of Putnam County. She graduated from Florida State College for Women and taught English at the old Mellon High School in Palatka and at several schools in South Florida for more than 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Palatka where she had taught the Senior Fidelis Class for more than 50 years. She was a past president of the Women's Missionary Union with the St. Johns River Baptist Association, past president of the Palatka Woman's Club, a member of the Garden Club of Palatka and she had served on the Advisory Board at St. Johns River Junior College when it first began.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde M. Rozier of Palatka; son, William Walker "Bunky" Roberts of Palatka; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Roberts Garcia of Pomona Park; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Palatka with Dr. John Pelham and Rev. Charles T. Rabun Jr. officiating. Burial will be Monday in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
