Magnolia Miller-
A Mass of Christian Burial will held for Magnolia Guidry Miller, age 97, on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, La. followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Reverend Albert Nunez will officiate the services.
Magnolia, who was a resident of Church Point, La. died at Opelousas General Health System on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 9:45 p.m.
She was a member of the Washington Rosary Group and she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived her son, Woodrow J. Miller and wife, Lela M. Miller, of Church Point, La.; her daughters, Irma Fontenot of Opelousas, La. and Pearl Carriere of Church Point, La. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Miller; her parents, Alexon and Lenora Duplechian Guidry; four brothers, Ophey Guidry, Claude Guidry, Isley Guidry, Gordy Guidry; two sisters, Rose Guidry Johnson, Elita Angellle; two son-in-laws, Ulysse Fontenot , Jr., Irby Carriere; two grandchildren, Woodrow Miller, Jr., Monica Lynn Miller and one great-great grandchild, Konner Carriere.
Pallbearers will be Jared Fontenot, Joey Prudhomme, Korey Hebert, Michael Fontenot, Brock Carriere, Jarren Carriere and honorary pallbearers will be, Todd Fontenot and Nate Craig.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 until service time. A rosary will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
