Delfin was survived by 2 sons: Delfin Elmer Medina of Rio Rancho and William Joseph of Los Lunas; daughter Shirley Irene Gallegos of Los Lunas; 2 brothers: Johnny and Teofilo of Alcalde; 3 sisters: Mary Chavez of Alcalde, Peggy Sanchez and Rosie Martinez of Albuquerque; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Delfin was a professional painter most of his life. He served in the US Armed Forces during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the San Juan Catholic Parish.
Funeral services were on 24 May 2003 in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde. Pallbearers: Ray Medina, Isaac Medina, Allen Medina, Mario Medina, Raymond Sanchez, and Abe Tapia. Honorary pallbearers: Jake Tapia and Mike Sanchez.
