He is survived by his children, Larry (Hazel) Friesner of Elkhart, Sue (Steve) Stauffer of Elkhart and Richard (Diane) Friesner of Osceola. Surviving as well are 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Mr. Friesner joined the service at the age of 17 and served 26 years in the U.S. Navy before his retirement at the rank of AE-1. He was employed for many years at South Bend Lathe and in his spare time enjoyed operating his HAM radio, fishing, cars and motorcycles and "fiddling and tinkering" with electronics. He was a member of the American Legion Post 308, VFW Post 88 and the DAV Chapter 19.
