G-Uncle Herman came from Germany and arrived in New York in 1884. He became a US Citizen in 1899 and could speak five languages! He was a farmer.

He married Elizabeth (Lizzie) MCBROOM on 12 Jan 1893 in Caldwell Parish LA. They had two sons: William and Leonard SCHUMAN.

We are not sure where Uncle Herman is buried, but he is probably with his wife, who we believe is by her brothers in McBroom/Cap Elliot Cemetery. Most of the tombstones found in the Cemetery are unreadable, broken & buried under leaves and tree limbs. See attached pictures of what remains of the cemetery.

See LA Death Certificate #5485.
