McDONALD-SNIDER
A very quiet wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Knowles in Guymon Saturday evening, the 3rd, when Miss Esther Snider became the bride of Clarence McDonald, Rev. Hill of Guymon reading the ceremony. Mrs. McDonald is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Snider and is one of Optima's own, having been born and reared here. Mr. McDonald is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George McDonald has resided near here the past few years. The Guymon Herald, Guymon Oklahoma, Thurs., Jan. 8, 1925, p. 4.

CLYDE CLARENCE McDONALD
The funeral services of Clyde Clarence McDonald were conducted from the Methodist church at Guymon, Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock by Rev. J. H. Wheeler of Tyrone, assisted by Rev. Hobson of Optima, and Rev. W. H. Dellinger, pastor of the local church. Hymn's sung were "Have Thine Own Way Lord," Shall We Gather at the River," and "Nearer My God to Thee." Brother Wheeler spoke very highly of the young man's life as he had known him. He was converted and baptized into the church during Brother Wheeler's ministry at Optima. The services at the Guymon cemetery were in charge of the Pythian Lodge, of which he was a faithful member.

Clyde Clarence McDonald was born at Lakewood, New Mexico, July 3rd, 1900, and departed this life September 30, 1929, at the Epworth Hospital, Liberal, Kansas. Clarence moved with his parents from Lakewood to Optima, Oklahoma in 1919. In 1923 he was converted and joined the Methodist Church South and remained an active member until the time of his death.

On January 3rd, 1925, he was united in marriage to Miss Esther Snider of Optima, Oklahoma. To this union were born two children, Pearl Elizabeth and George William.

Clarence is survived by his wife and two children, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George McDonald of Optima, Oklahoma, and sister, Mrs. Grace Knowles of Guymon, Okla., three brothers, Ralph and Clifford of Optima, Okla., and Gerald of Guymon, Okla., also a grandmother, Mrs. Letha Sassin, Optima, Okla., and a host of relatives and friends.

The deceased was an amiable young man devoted to loved ones and home. His life was short but a life is not numbered by years, but by deeds. He loved music and never seemed happier than when singing.
