Services for Mabel Kratz, 97, who died June 28, 1988 at the Aase Haugen Home, Decorah, were held at 10:30 July 1 in the United Methodist Church in Cresco. The Rev. Allen J. Wiese officiated with interment in Oak Lawn cemetery. Arrangements were with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home.

Mabel was born October 10, 1890 at Ridgeway to Xenia and Eva Armstrong. She attended the Ridgeway School. Mabel married S. Winfield Kratz on September 5, 1912. They were the parents of three daughters. Mabel lived her entire lifetime in the Ridgeway and Cresco area.

Survivors are her daughters: Mrs. Gladys Eggen and Mrs. Vivian Ganrud, both of Decorah and Mrs. Elaine Moudry of Cresco; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two step grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1923; two sisters, Hattie Armstrong and Maude Farghum and three brothers, Eugene, Charles and Raymond.

Relatives attended the funeral from Carmel, Indiana; Papillion, Nebraska; Olathe, Kansas; Rosemount, Minnesota and the surrounding area towns.
