Catherine J. Speelman, 84, of Ceader Ave. Gettysburg, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, at Chambersburg Hospital.

She was a life long resident of Adams County, and her husband, the late Melvin Speelman died in 1978.
Born Dec. 7, 1906, in Adams County, she was the daughter of late William and Emma (Webster) Wilkinson.

She is survived by seven daughters: Catherine E. Slaybaugh of Gettysburg; Mabel Reed of Union Bridge, Md.; Helen Reynolds of Hendersonville, N.C.; June Sultz of Hanover; Dolores Speelman of Hanover; Barbara M. Spicerman of Gettysburg and Nadine N. Carbaugh of McConnellsburg; Three sons: Albert Speelman of Mount Clemens, Mich; Sonny Speelman of New Oxford and Arnold Speelman of Gettysburg; one sister: Charlotte Kump of Gettysburg, 26 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services held at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, with the Rev. Charles R. Slaybaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Marsh Creek Cemetery.
