"John J Conaway, son of Mr and Mrs Elias J Conaway of 118 North Brown street, passed away at the family home last evening at about 8 o'clock, following a short illness of typhoid fever. The young man was about 22 years old, and had lived in Titusville for about twelve years. With his twin brother, William W Conaway, the deceased was a student at Grove City college, where he was taking a course in science. A short time ago an epidemic of an unknown ailment afflicted almost all of the residents of that place, this seemingly being a precurser of typhoid fever or disease itself in some form, which has since developed in Grove City, there being nearly 100 cases of the fever at present in that place. Among those who became ill of typhoid was the dead young man. It was thought best for him to return home so his brother William, a week ago Saturday, accompanied the sick young man to the city. While he was confined to his bed, the deceased's condition was not such as to cause alarm until yesterday, when he grew worse and his physician, Dr Hugh Jameson, decided that the patient had better be removed to the city hospital. However, before the ambulance had arrived at the Conaway home, it was apparent that the patient was unfit to be removed and, last evening at the hour named, he passed away. Young Conaway, who was his father's substitute as carrier on route 77, RFD, was born in Troy township. Coming here with his parents, about twelve years ago, he entered the local schools from which he was graduated with the high school class of 1913. In September of last year he entered Grove City college. He was a young man of bright prospects, and well liked by all knowing him. His pleasing personality had gained him a host of friends and his untimely death will be sincerely regretted. The bereaved family will have the sympathy of the entire community. The deceased is survived by his parents and these brothers and sisters: Charles Conaway of Rising Sun, O, James of Caney, Kas, Lester of Canure, Kas, Mrs E O Decker of Coffeyville, Kan, and Roy and William W of this city. Arrangements for the funeral had not last evening been completed."

"BREVITIES - Funeral Friday - Funeral services in memory of John J Conaway, son of Mr and Mrs Elias J Conaway of North Brown street, who passed away at the family home, will be conducted at the First Presbyterian church chapel Friday afternoon. The services will begin at 2 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev Samuel Semple, the pastor. Relatives of the deceased from Oklahoma and Kansas are expected here in time to attend the obsequies. That the bereaved parents and family have the deep sympathy of the community in their great sorrow, is indicated by the expressions of sorrow that have been heard on every hand since the time the young man passed away."

There was a very beautiful and large display of flowers in which were included a number of pretty set pieces. Beginning at 2 o'clock, Rev Samuel Semple of the First Presbyterian church, read the Presbyterian ritual service for the dead, and he preached a sermon in which a worthy tribute was paid the deceased. Mr Semple was also present at the commitment. The reverend gentleman was assisted at the chapel by Miss Frederika Cobb and Mrs Joseph F Coleman of the Presbyterian choir, who sang 'Jesus Pilot Me,' and 'Asleep in Jesus.'
