On Jan 3, 1875, he was united in marriage with Miss Celestia Hawthorne at Pleasantville and she survives him with the following children: Charles Conaway of Rising Sun, O; James Conaway of Oilton, Okla; Mrs Arta Decker of Dearing, Kan; Roy Conaway, residing on the homestead near the Diamond; Lester Conaway of Scranton and Private William Conaway with the American army of occupation in Germany. A son, John Conaway, died about five years ago. He was a member of the Hydetown Grange and highly respected by all who knew him. Arrangements for the funeral will be made later."
