Obituary

Daniel Ross, 75, who had lived in Benton County for fifty years, died Friday at his home on Jackson St. Although he had been in failing health for some time, he did not become critically ill until two days before his death.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. A.C. Stormont of the Methodist Church and at the grave by Rev. Steve Gardner in Bethel Camp Ground Cemetery near Edwards. "Abide with Me" was beautifully sung by a quartet composed of Mrs. Fee Grissam, Mrs. Harvey Holloway, George Drake and Rev. Stormont.

Before a great many friends gathered at the graveside, the final service was held with the singing of "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Daniel Ross was born May 25th 1860 in Marcellus, Michigan and died at his home in Warsaw, January 3rd 1936. In 1884, he with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Major Ross, moved to Missouri where in 1886, he married Mary Jane Branstetter. To this union were born seven children, one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Dice, dying thirteen years ago. All the children were at the bedside when death called.
