Benjamin Adams Wrenn, 79, of 525 Allensville Rd., Roxboro, died Thursday, November 22, 2012. Born in Person County, Mr. Wrenn was the son of the late Ralph Ellison and Mary Ann Duncan Wrenn. Mr. Wrenn was a retired welder and a US Navy veteran having served onboard the USS Everglades. He was a member of Roxboro Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Wallace, and Tommy Wrenn and his sisters, Mildred Bowes and Nancy Poindexter.
Mr. Wrenn is survived by his wife, Iris Broach Wrenn; five children and their spouses, Geena Wrenn Hicks and Richard N. Hicks, of Farmville, Bruce A. Wrenn and Patricia Morton Wrenn, Susan Wrenn-Reed, all of Roxboro, Sammy E. Wrenn and Angie Dickerson Wrenn, of Hurdle Mills and Laura Wrenn Edwards and Jimmy Edwards, of Henderson. He was Papa Ben to eight grandchildren, Katie Hicks Evans, Ben Hicks, Douglas Adams Wrenn, Leigh Anne Wrenn, Beth Barton Powers and husband Robert, Annie Horner, Will Huffaker and Joshua Edwards and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Rachel Iris and Ward Evans and Aislynn Powers and grandchild of the heart Sommer Woodham.

Funeral services will be held 2PM, Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Alfred Snipes and the Rev. Hal Dickerson. Burial will follow in the Wrenn Family Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday at the home.

Pallbearers will be Adam Poindexter, Douglas Wrenn, Ben Hicks, Joshua Edwards, Preston Bowes and Bobby Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Riley, Bob Bass, Jim Wilkerson, Charles Watson, Tim Parnell and Glenn Attaway.
