He was a veteran of WW I and a member of the Jacobs (sic) Luteran Church of Masontownn, the Edenborn Fire Department and the UMWA local No. 6326.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth, in 1938, and a son, Merle, in 1964.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Seanor Wallace. Children; Mrs. Lewis (Helen) Voithoffer of RD No. 1 McClellandtown, Lillian M. Barnhart and Mrs. Cecil (Lydia) Barnhart both of Connellsville., Samuel Jr. of Oliver No. 1, and Mrs Emerson (Peggy Jean) Snyder of Masontown, 28 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
Also surviving brothers and sisters; Homer of Margarette, Pa., William of Bellimore, Md., Harry of Monessen (sic), Mrs Hiram (Margaret) Seanor of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Isabelle Brink of Patton, Pa.
