He went into the US Navy and served in WW2. I have photos of him as both a 2nd Class PO standing near a car with Virginia plates dated 1942 and then another photo as a 1st Class PO. His grave marker indicates he made "chief" and it says CY - is that Chief Yeoman?
He married Dorothy M (Rucker) Guilliams in Las Vegas Nevada.
In my grandfather's obit (Ronald D McClain) it says one of his surviving brothers was Carl Nelson of Oakland, Nebraska. That's how I was able to figure out that Carl was Loren Mayo McClain.
Living relatives of the McClain family (Melba McClain) said that she thought he changed his name to Carl Nelson and lived in Nebraska. My mother Carolyn McClain confirmed that as well.
It appears he died at age 64 - would like to FIND OBIT for him - to determine cause of death.
