Andrew Calandro, 80, of 920 N. Seventh St., Murphysboro, died Thursday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born July 21, 1880, in Membrigi, Italy. He was married to Frances Schiro.

Mr. Calandro was a retired coal miner.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Murphysboro, and a member of the United Mine Workers union.

He leaves his wife; sons, Earl of Roger City, Mich., Nichlos of Michigan, and Joseph of Murphysboro; daughters, Mrs. Christine Duvardo, Mrs. Myrtle Bottini and Mrs. Clara Ferrari, all of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Josephine Bittle of Alto Pass, and Mrs. Pauline Tomlinson and Mrs. Nettie Boyer, both of Murphysboro; ... and a brother, Joseph Calandro of Murphysboro.

One daughter and one sister preceded him in death.
