Mrs. Mattie Bell Tompkins Fowler (1877-1963), 85, 500 Reid Street died in a local hospital at 11:30 p.m. Monday after a short illness. She was a native of Palatka for 38 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Driggers, Palatka, Mrs. Frank Laibl, Melbourne, Mrs. L. G. Laibl, Palatka, and Mrs. L. H. Armstrong, Palatka; one son C. W. Fowler, Palatka; sister, Mrs. Louis Preston, Micanopy; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Masters Funeral Home. Palatka Daily News, Tuesday, 9 Apr 1963.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Pentecostal Church with interment in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
