Obituary

Died, on the 9th inst., Mrs Ann Macalester, relict of the late Charles Macalester, of this city, in the 85th year of her age. The deceased was a native of Perth, Scotland, and came to this country at an early period of her life. (2 garbled) with a most amiable disposition, and with great energy of mind and body, she was loved and appreciated by all who knew her. The mother of a large family, she lived to rear her children with the most assiduous and devoted affection. Spared by the Providence of God to attain an age known but to few, she continued to the last to illustrate those Christian graces which mark the true Christian character - and when the Master called she was (1 garbled) ready to surrender her spirit to the God who gave it, and (2 garbled)ing in the promises and consideration of the Gospel, she cast herself entirely upon her Saviour and sweetly (so we trust) melted into Heaven.
