Lydia Corliss, the daughter of Jeremiah Corliss II and Polly Philbrick, b. 15 Jan 1804 in Weare, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, d. 1 Mar 1888, Brown County, Kansas, where she had been living with her daughter, Elsey Poston. Her remains were brought home to Indiana and buried in Block 24, West Side, Old Ground, Door Village Cemetery, Scipio Twp, LaPorte, Indiana.
Note: I have not researched into this family much, but include it here, because the children of David and Lydia have married into so many of the other families of New Durham Twp, LaPorte County. The family was found living very near the John W. Cole family in the 1840 Census, four farms away. In those times, is it any wonder that one of the Cole children should grow up to marry one of the McKellips offspring? From the 1840 census I feel that we are missing a son from this list, possibly the eldest, and that there is one female too many, possibly Dolly and Marinda are the same person.
