Virginia was the daughter of Donald Atkinson and Alma Ruth (Beard)(Atkinson)Austin. She was born in Portland, Ore on Bastille Day 1927. She was a world traveller from her earliest days. She lived in the Phillipines as a child and had many friends there. She also lived in Washington D.C.and Rossland B.C. Canada. She attended Greenbrier Girls School. She graduated from Willamette University (Salem, Ore) in 1949. She married Lloyd Eldrid Hutchinson Sept 4th, 1949. She had one daughter and one son. She lived in various locations throughout the world and the U.S with her family, as her husband worked for the Guy F. Atkinson construction Company. They lived in West Pakistan for eight years during the construction of the Mangla Dam. Virginia was a teacher, having obtained a teaching certificate in the Bay area in the 1960's. Virginia and Hutch were later divorced. Virginia retired to Green Valley, Arizona and lived there until her death. Virginia's hobbies and affiliations were people, bridge, people, pets, swimming instructor, church camps director, girls youth organizations including the YWCA, AAUW, the Green Valley Community Church Sunday School Superintendent and her Chi Omega sorority. She loved her animals and loved living in the southwestern part of the United States. She passed away July 6th, just a week before her birthday.
