At the time of his death at Sacramento Hospital in California, Junior was 72 years, 4 months and 2 days old. He was survived by his wife, Ruby, of Placerville, California; 2 sons, Richard Squier of Watsonville, California, and Larry Lee Squier of Provo, Utah; 2 daughters, Jean Stone of Rescue, California, and Sharon LaBelle of Folsom, California; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Howard, of Nuevo, California; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Bennett of Hardin, Illinois, and Mildred Etter, also of Hardin.

Private funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. on 27 Jul 1992 at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in California.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the American Heart Association Golden Empire Chapter in Sacramento, California.

Junior's wife, Ruby, passed away in California in 2008.
