He was a native of Greene County, Tenn., a son of the late Joseph Perry and Rosa Bell Tarleton Mills,
Mr. Mills was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a retired bookkeeper. Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law: Troy Carter and Gladys Mills of Charlotte, and Buddy L. and Edna Mills of Belmont; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Mills.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Ave., Mount Holly.
A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Pine Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Greene County.
