Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss for Howard Bridges, 83, of Hattiesburg, formerly of Prentiss, who died Jan. 17, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center.
Burial will be in Prentiss Cemetery.
Mr. Bridges served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was fire chief of Prentiss for six years and worked on a pipeline and as a welder. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Bridges of Hattiesburg; a son, Karon Bridges of Hattiesburg; a sister, Evelyn Whitehead of New Hebron; two brothers, Webb Bridges and Mike Bridges, both of Prentiss; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
