EL PASO -- Boniface J. (Bonn) Cleary, 81 of Salem, Ore., a native of the El Paso community, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan 18, at his home of an apparent heart attack. His funeral and burial was Saturday in Salem.
He was born June 3,1896 near El Paso, a son of John T. and Mary Ellen Corbley Cleary. He married Elizabeth Roberts of Peoria, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Haas, extended care unit, Mennonite Hospital, and Mrs Madeline Ritchie, both of Bloomington. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
A niece, Mrs. John(Mary Cleary) Adlington of Peoria, went to Oregon by plane Friday to attend the funeral.

Born in El Paso, IL on June 3, 1896 a son of John T and Mary Corbley Cleary. Bonifacewas a resident of Salem since moving here in 1948 from Peoria, IL. He was a real estate salesman, a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a World War I Army veteran.
Survivors include widow, Elizabeth R. Moorfield Cleary; daughters Nancy Schultz of Redding CA; and Jane Burkland of Belmont, CA.; sisters Loretta Haas and Madeline Ritchie, both of Bloomington, IL.; seven grandchildren.
Private graveside services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in City View Cemetery under the direction of Virgil T. Golden mortuary.
