Harry C. Boatman, seventy-seven, died at the home of his son, Maris W., of Pequea, with whom he resided, at 8:40 p.m. yesterday of apoplexy. He was a member of the Covenant U.B. church. He was a former railroad employee and river fisherman. These children survive: L.C., Mrs. John Young and Mrs. John Andre, all of Lancaster; Mrs. William Beach, of East Petersburg; Mrs. Virginia Saber, Harrisburg; Best, of Pomeroy; Mrs. Burton Leighner, of Reading; Maris and Dewey, of Pequea. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. (Sunday News - June 26, 1938)
