Eunice Lee Baldwin Smith, 75, of Hawley, Texas, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, completed her journey on earth and went into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the Abilene Bowling Lanes, 279 Ruidosa Ave.
Immediately following will be a visitation at Abilene Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, Abilene.
Burial will follow in the Hawley Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Eunice was born October 20, 1934, in Dawson County, Texas, to David and Oma Baldwin. She was a resident of Hawley for 41 years.
Eunice married J.D. Smith on June 1, 1960, and was blessed with six children and eight grandchildren. J.D. and Eunice would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June.
Her favorite hobbies were bowling, coaching softball and baseball, trips to Las Vegas and Oklahoma, ceramics, square dancing, spending time with her family, playing games, and watching her grandchildren in various sports and activities.
Eunice graduated from Anson High School and later attended college, working toward a Criminal Justice degree.
She was a homemaker, a business owner, and had various work positions throughout her lifetime. She was on the NALC Postal Auxiliary Board #593 and was on two bowling leagues at Abilene Bowling Lanes for many years.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband, J.D. Smith of Hawley; four daughters - Debbie Smith of Hereford, Beckey Billings and spouse Jeff of Conroe, Tammy Smith of Hawley, Deanne Powers and spouse Carl of Hawley; two sons- James Smith of Hawley and Tim Smith and spouse, Lisa of Hawley; eight grandchildren - Alex, Nicholas, Destiny and Eric Smith, Zachary and Brylee Powers, all of Hawley, and Taylor and Jacob Billings of Conroe; step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
