Marie Haddock Peterson passed away November 12, 2012 at her home. She was born September 9, 1923 in Paris, Idaho, the daughter of Jennings Bryan and Lorna Margaret Haddock.

Marie was married to Loren J. Peterson for 59 years and lived in the Brigham City area for 58 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had many ward and stake callings. She served as ward organist for over 65 years.

Marie had a natural gift for music and could play anything with or without written music. She also loved sewing and taught all of her daughters to sew. Marie loved to read.

She is survived by her children: Glen Loren Peterson, Linda Bassett, Carol (William) Wheelwright, Mary (James) Hansen, Laurie (Robert) Johnson, and Annette Higley; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; siblings: Joyce (Vance) Madsen, Reed Bryan Haddock, and ReNee (Deverle) Bird.

Preceded in death by her husband, Loren J. Peterson, two grandsons, Michael Brigham Higley, Zachary Charles Hansen and her parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the North Stake Center, 620 N. 300 E., Brigham City, UT. Friends and family may call on Friday, November 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT, and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Calls Fort Cemetery.
