The 3rd of 14 children born to German immigrants Fred and Caroline (Heidemann) Endorf who had come to America separately and married in Illinoi in 1867, coming next to Saline County, Nebraska. He was born before there was a Zion Lutheran church, but his parents helped found it and Henry was confirmed there in 1889. He married Mary Rohr there in 1897, and they had 10 children:
Henry C. (1898-1980, buried in this cemetery);
Nora (b. 1900, married a Mr. Howe);
Alma (b. 1903, married Hugo Harmsen);
Fred H. (1904-1991);
John C. (1908-1996, buried in this cemetery);
Elva (1911-2006, married Leo Steinbrook, buried in New Zion);
Olga (b. 1914, married Gustav Orth);
Marie (b. 1916, married Walter Peters);
Irene (b.1918, married first Roy Shultis and then Mr. Wolken);
Louis (1922-2006, married Evelyn Slonecker, buried in New Zion).
