Ernest was #13 of Fred and Caroline Endorf's children; he was raised in the Lutheran Church at Zion Lutheran of Saline County and remained a faithful member all of his life. He married Louise Struckman on April 27, 1916 at Zion. They had 5 children: Ervin Henry, Arthur H., Harold F. Ernest G., and Lola Carolina.

Ernest L. Endorf died March 7, 1969, at his home in Tobias, Neb., at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 22 days.

He was the youngest son of Frederick W. and Carolina Heidemann Endorf. He was born November 13, 1894, at Tobias and resided in the Tobias area his entire life. Mr. Endorf was baptized December 2, 1894, at Zion Lutheran Church, Tobias, and later attended Zion Lutheran School. He was confirmed April 4, 1909, by Pastor Schroeder.

April 27, 1916, he was united in marriage to Louise Struckmann. This marriage was blessed with four sons and one daughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, November 26, 1955, by a son, Authur, a Lutheran elementary teacher and a grandson, Gernon, in 1960.

Survivors are sons, Erwin of Emmett , Idaho; Harold of Tobias, Ernest G. of Daykin and daughter, Lola (Mrs. Lester Mathes), of Garland, Neb., nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Bartels of Tobias and Mrs. Mollie Meyer of Fairbury. Seven brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Also surviving is the widow by a second marriage on January 30, 1958, Mrs. Lizzie Endorf.

Mr. Endorf was a lifelong active member of Zion Lutheran church, Tobias. He was also a member of the Lutheran Hospital Association of Beatrice since 1921, and was serving as chairman at the time of his death. He also represented Zion Congregation in the Concordia college Association, Seward, for 16 years.

Funeral services were March 10, at Zion Lutheran Church near Tobias, with Rev. E. H. Prange officiating. Interment was in Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis Endorf, Walter Endorf, Merle Meyer, Herbert Endorf, Leonard Bartels and Adolph Haake.
