O'NEILL - Funeral services for William D. Claussen, 81, of O'Neill were held March 30 in the United Methodist Church at O'Neill with the Rev. Stanley Schrag officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, north of O'Neill. Pallbearers were Les Stevens, John Schultz, Carl Schenzel, Bernard Luben, O. Dureke, Maurice Grutsch, Walter Devall and Walter Egger. William Claussen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Claussen, was born Aug. 28, 1890 at Emmet. He died March 28 of cancer in the O'Neill hospital. He had been ill about five months. On June 11, 1919, he married Ruth Bigler of O'Neill at Neligh. He was an insurance salesman and former farmer. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge and United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Ruth; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lewis; and two brothers, Rudolph of Atkinson and Otto of Arteria, Calif. He was preceded in death by one son.
