The late Mrs. John Morice--On Monday at 2 p.m., there passed away at the ripe old age of 76 years 2 months, Mrs. John Morice, of Normanby. For over a year she has been in delicate health, and several times her life was despaired of, but a vigorous constitution and a buoyant spirit, enabled her to rally. She succumbed at last, passing away without pain and being conscious nearly to the last. The deceased was greatly valued for her neighborly qualities and was a warm hearted friend. Devoted at she was to her husband and family, she will be sincerely mourned by them, and not soon will be forgotten by many who learned to value her sunny disposition and prize her acquaintanceship. Mrs. Morice was a native of Ayrshire Scotland, and came to this country a young woman. She was married near Fergus and with her husband, settled near Arthur. Twentysix years ago they came to Normanby, and settled on the farm where she has lived ever since. Her family consists of her sons--Robert, (reeve of Normanby), James, of Bentinck and John; David the eldest died a few weeks ago. Her daughters--Mrs. Moore, Teeswater; Mrs. Ferguson (Janet), Cumnock; Mrs Green (Lizzie), Arthur; Mrs. Wm Petty, (Mary), Bentinck. Two of her sisters are near by, Mrs. Q. Pettigrew and Mrs. Picken, and a third Mrs. Starrat {should be Stirrett} is in Michigan. She is to be buried tomorrow, (Wednesday), at 3 p.m., in Maplewood cemetery.
