Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. R. L. Buckner on the Columbia Road for her sister, Miss Elizabeth Mourning, 63 years old, who died at Ashville, N.C., last Friday. The services were conducted by Rev. Alfred Erickson and burial was in the cemetery at Bethel. Miss Mourning was a member of one one of the pioneer families of Taylor County and was the daughter of the late James W. and Elizabeth Durham Mourning. She was born in Taylor County on November 27, 1875. She spent her early life here and for many years taught school in Campbellsville and was widely known throughout the vicinity. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. R. L. Buckner, of this city; and Miss Katherine Mourning, of Oteen, North Carolina. Pallbearers were: Manville Turner, George Griffin, George Dearen, Wood Coppock, Everett Kerr, and Henry Edrington.
