Peoria, IL - Marilyn J. Huguenard, 80, formerly of Peoria and Valparaiso, Ind., and who recently resided in Sugar Hill, Ga., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, after a long struggle with heart disease and, most recently, brain cancer.
She was born June 27, 1932, in Peoria, Ill., to Edward J. and Margaret K. Keeley. She married John J. Huguenard Jr. on Dec. 29, 1956. They divorced in February of 1982, and they had four children.
Surviving are one brother, Jack Keeley of Chicago; two daughters, Kathleen A. Huguenard of Sugar Hill, Ga., and Patricia E. Huguenard of Suwanee, Ga.; one son, James E. Huguenard of Indianapolis, Ind; two grandsons, Nathan J. Stowell and Christopher J. Stowell of Sugar Hill, Ga.; and two nieces, Kimberly Gaddis and Mitzi St. Louis, both of Kankakee, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amie L. Huguenard, in 2003.
Marilyn graduated from Academy of Our Lady in Peoria, Ill., in 1949. She attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso, Ind., and attended Duluth First United Methodist Church after moving to Georgia. She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter D.Q. of Indiana and P.E.O. Chapter D. of Georgia.
She retired from Dr. Scott Polizotto's dental office in December 2003 after 30 years as an office manager.
Marilyns's most cherished memories include special times spent with family and friends; singing Beethoven's 9th Symphony, 4th movement for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Choir; autumn days and long walks with her longtime companion and dear friend, Robert Espie, who brought great joy and peace to her life; time spent with her P.E.O. sisters; and her days socializing at the table with the ladies at The Parc of Duluth. She will never forget.
