Lou was born March 8, 1926 in Broken Arrow, OK, the daughter of Elick and Beulah (Cobb) Fields. She married Rufus Dykes April 10, 1950 in Tulsa. He preceded her in death June 13, 1994 after 43 years of marriage.
A homemaker who enjoyed woodcrafts, fishing, and camping, Lou was a member of the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith.
Also preceding her in death were both her parents; daughter, Doris Dunigan; sister, Dovie Dykes; brother, Floyd Fields; and granddaughters, Shirley Clausen and Shonna Fryar.
Survivors include her sons, Earl Gilliam and wife, Linda of Tulsa and Jerry Dykes and wife, Sue of Tulsa; daughter, Donna Lugo of Tulsa; sister, Virginia Howard of Mannford; niece, Leona Lang of CA; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Heath-Griffith Funeral Home Chapel.
