Mr. Willford O. "Will" Beard, Sr., 89, of Rocky Ridge, Maryland, went to be with our Lord, November 8, 2012 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. Eaton Beard.

Born October 16, 1923 in Woodsboro, MD., he was the son of the late Vernon O. and Myrtie Smith Beard.

Mr. Beard was a heavy equipment operator and retired from (Gen-Star) now Lafarge at the age of 65. He loved fishing, bird watching, hunting, gardening, getting together for family dinners and especially celebrating the Holidays.

He is survived by two daughters Frances Redding and husband Tom of Chambersburg, PA, Valerie Beard and fiancé Robert Speak of Greencastle, PA and a son Wilford O. Beard, Jr and fiancée Patricia Forrest of Waynesboro, PA, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers Milton W., Luther V., and Austin S. Beard and two sisters Armatha Stambaugh and Annabel Beard.

Interment will be private.
