Harrison Barrett (ID# 100481548)
Ancestry.com lists slave owner Calvin Barrett as the slave owner of Harrison Barrett (ID# 100481548). The schedule includes: Harrison's father, a 42 year old mulatto (Simon Barrett), a 34 year old black male, a 38 year old female (Eliza Barrett, Harrison's mom), a 76 year old black female, a 14 year old black male (Harrison), and a 2 year old black male.

The black members of the Barrett family (from Barrett Station) have long wondered where the Barrett family name came from. The Barrett family is aware of relatives in North Carolina through family legend.

The mulatto man (Harrison's dad, Simon Barrett) is Calvin Barrett's half brother. Both are the son of Dominick Barrett. The 76 year old black female is likely Harrison's grandmother. The slave owning Barrett family had lived in Gray Rock, Titus County, Texas for more than 14 years, meaning that Harrison was born there in 1845.

Harrison Barrett was sold to the Barber family in Mont Belvieu, Texas sometime before 1865. After the emancipation of slaves in Texas, Harrison returned to Titus County, where he collected his mother and father, and two half brothers and a sister. He was unable to find the other remaining sister. He then brought all of the family members to his land in Barrett Station, Texas where they set up a community.of Barrett Station, Texas
