John Berger, aged 82, of rural route No 1, Madison road, Mishawaka, died at 1:30 pm July 4, in his home. He had been in ill health for a year.
Mr Berger was born in Grandvae, Switzerland, Feb 17, 1863, and had lived in that community most of his life. He married Lora Mutti, Nov 10, 1917. Mr Berger was a
farmer. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs Don Robinson, route 1, Mishawaka, three grandchildren and one brother, David Berger of Lakeville. Mr Berger was a member of the Zion Evangelical & Reformed church.
Funeral services were held Friday with a prayer service at the home followed by services in St John's Evangelical & Reformed church, Woodland at 2 pm. Rev G B Rowe, pastor of the Midway Gospel Tabernacle, officiated and burial St John Cemetery Woodland.
