"Rebecca Borst, wife of Elias Akins, died at her home in East Worcester, between 1 and 2 o'clock Friday morning, death resulting from the effects of grip. She was taken ill about a week ago and gradually failed. Mrs. Akins was the daughter of Michael and Catharine Borst and was 82 years of age. She was married 50 years ago to Elias Akins of Roseboom, in which town they resided for a while, removing to East Worcester where they lived for 18 years. After this they lived in New York city for 21 years and then returned to East Worcester. Mrs. Akins became a Christian while she was a young girl, and was always a devoted and conscientious follower of the Master. She is survived by her husband and one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Empie, of East Worcester. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, in the Methodist Episcopal church in East Worcester, Rev. W. T. Lewis officiating, assisted by Rev. A. N. Denny. Interment was made in the village cemetery." ["The Cobleskill Index" (Cobleskill, NY), Mar. 31, 1910, Page 1]
