"Elias Akins, an aged and respected resident of East Worcester was found dead in a chair at his home on Main street Wednesday morning, March 19th. Mr. Akins was seventy-seven years of age and lived alone. He was seen out of doors at eight o'clock on Wednesday morning and at about nine o'clock Mrs. McWilliams, a neighbor, saw him sitting by a window apparently unconscious. Dr. Randall was called and pronounced him dead. Deceased was a life long resident of this place with the exception of a few years spent in New York City where he proved his ability as a business man. The funeral was held from the M. E. church, Rev. Boyce officiating and interment made in Maple View cemetery.---East Worcester Correspondent."
