From the Town of Tusten Historian obituary collection, Narrowsburg, NY: "Mrs Lucy Elizabeth Stocker, 102, died Wednesday evening Dec 1 1948 at nine o'clock in her home, Hamlin, after an illness.
Leaves a daughter, Mrs Charles D Wolfe of Hamlin; three grandchildren, Lucille and Elizabeth Wolfe of Philadelphia, and Paul Wolf at home.
Services from home and burial in Hamlin Cemetery.
She was the oldest former school teacher in this section of the state, having taught in "The Old Stone Jug" school on the farm of Dale Leshers in Hamlin at the age of 17. Except for three years when she taught in Minneapolis, Minn. she has lived in Salem Township all her life.
She was married November 16, 1875 to George Walker, a Hamlin merchant and Civil War veteran,who died in 1886. Eleven years later she married Jerome T Stocker of Pestona, who died in 1935.
The daughter of Maj. Anson and Clarissa Taylor Abbey, early settlers in Wayne County who came to this region from Connecticut."∼Lucy Elizabeth married George W Walker and then Jerome Stocker.
