Born Aug. 23, 1896, at Marietta, Minn., Mr. Marum came with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Amund Marum, to Coulee in 1901. In 1915 the family moved to Kenmare, and from May 23, 1918, until July 26, 1919, Arthur served with the U.S. Army during World War I. Two years after his marriage, which took place Nov. 25, 1925, at Kenmare, he moved to Wolseth, making his home there until 1934 when he and his family came to the Glenburn area. In 1949, Mr. Marum and his family moved to Minot. He was first employed here with the Great Northern Railway and later at the John Moses Veterans Administration Hospital until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church, Rev. Felix Andrews officiating. Arrangements are being made by Thompson-Larson Funeral Home where rosary is to be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Marum is survived by his wife, Lena; three sons, Delbert of Minot, Leonard of Lansford and Robert of Curtis, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Bursau of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Mrs. P.G. (Minnie) Anderson and Mrs. O.F. (Jennie) Kelley of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Ole (Elvina) Smedsrud of Conrad, Mont.; two brothers, Louis of Kenmare and Helmer of Minot; and 11 grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Soldiers plot of Rosehill Cemetery.
