J. Chester Krall, 79, of Shiloh, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary I. (Renoll) Krall. The couple observed their 58th wedding anniversary June 8.
The service will be noon Tuesday at Fourth United Methodist Church, Market and Lehman streets, York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 10 to noon Tuesday at the church. The LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., 2290 School St., Shiloh, is in charge of ar rangements.
Mr. Krall was born April 23, 1919, near Kralltown, Washington Township. He was the son of the late Benjiman F. and Mabel E. (Gruver) Krall.
He was a machinist and served in various supervisory positions at Allis Chalmers, retiring in 1984 after 48 years of service. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Management Club, and was a former active member of Junior Achievement. He was a member of past president of Shiloh Lions Club, past district governor of 14C Lions Association from 1975 to 1976, and life member of Lions International Association. He was also a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Manor Lodge Gun and Hunting Club, Manor Club, Viking Athletic Association, American Association of Retired Persons Golf League at Briarwood Golf Course, Cotillion, Syncopation and Phoenix Dance Clubs and served on the board of West Manchester Township Water Authority since 1957, where he also served as chairman for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Krall also is survived by two sons, James C. Krall and Robert E. Krall, both of York; a granddaughter; two brothers, Lester E. Krall of York and Sherman B. Krall of East Berlin; two sisters, Edna Frey of York and Helen Krall of East Berlin; and nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Ronald S. French.
