In 1875, she was married to James R Dougan. To this union was born one son, Charles F. James died in 1880.
On 2 March 1882, she was married to George N Lowe by J J Locker. To this union was born 4 children, 2 dying in infancy. (Ernest and Eunice) The surviving children were, Charles Dougan, Gladys Lowe and Lester Lowe.
A year after their marriage, they established a home on a farm in Seneca, Ks, where they resided until 1902, then moving to Council Grove.
