David Goodspeed, a resident of this area for most of his life, passed away in Binghamton hospital on Monday, November 1 after an illness of about 5 years. He was 68 years old.
Mr. Goodspeed was born in New Lisbon October 31, 1882,
the son of Harris and Hannah (Hadsel) Goodspeed. In 1901 he
was married to Miss Lila McAuslan. He spent his lifetime at
farming in the Fly Creek Valley.
Besides his wife, Mr, Goodspeed is survived by a son Charles
of Fly Creek, a brother, Louis Goodspeed of Los Angeles, two sisters, Mrs. Eli Waters of Oneonta and Mrs. Hattie Gardner, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held on Thursday of last week at 2 o'clock from the Ingalls Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Emlen Zellers, Jr. Burial was at Fly Creek cemetery.
