ABERNATHY - Apolinar Martinez, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Isidore Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. Timothy Judd officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Martinez was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Lamar, Colo. He married Frances Gomez in 1948 and was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Richard G. Martinez of Luling, Trinidad G. Martinez of New Deal, Lorenzo G. Martinez of Amarillo and Joe L. Martinez of Abernathy; two daughters, Frances M. Asebedo of Esterville, Iowa, and Catalina G. Rosales of Greeley, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tomas Martinez of Vilencia, Calif., and Gomisendo Martinez of Phoenix.
