Billie Haston Deason (Mrs. Gilbert R.) 92, a resident of East Point for 62 years, died August 18, 2004. For the past 10 years, she had lived in Savannah. Mrs. Deason was a strong believer in community service while holding leadership positions in Eat Point Woman's Club, East Point Garden Club, and the Atlanta Baker's Club Women's Auxiliary. As a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of East Point, she served as Sunday School teacher, WMU president and in many other leadership positions. She is survived by daughters, Juanita (Mrs. James) Parker, Mrs. Janice Chastain, and son-in-law, Ken Chastain, Jr.; son, Garry Deason and daughter-in-law, Carol Deason; brother, Allen Kiser; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; Pallbearers will be the 9 grandchildren; Steve Parker, Chris Parker, Carey Chapman, Kim Chapman, Stuart Parker, Jeff Parker, Todd Chapman, Paul Chapman, and Blake Deason. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21 at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Newt Hendrix officiating.
