MARILYN ROOP SAYS HER VOWS

The Third Presbyterian church, Fort Wayne, Ind., was the scene of the wedding of Miss Marilyn Anne Roop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond M. and Pauline (Gresser) Roop, West South Street, and Lt. William Ewing Bennett, West Walnut street. The ceremony was read at 7:30 Thursday evening, May 27, by the church pastor, Rev. Andrew M. Lowry. The couple was attended by Lt. and Mrs. L. H. James, Austin, Tex., Miss Lillian Seibt, Fort Wayne, ant Lt. R. A. Stubblefield, Caldwell, Ida.
Miss. Bennett was a graduated from Central high school and has been employed by the Consumer's Power Company. Lt. Bennett also was a graduated from Central high school and attended Western Michigan College. He received his commission in the army corps March, at William Field, Ariz.

FRANKFORT-Marilyn Ann "Skip" Bennett, 76, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was a model of beauty and incredible courage to family and friends.
Skip was born on May 9, 1924, in Bluffton, Ind., to Pauline M. and Raymond M. Roop. She moved to Michigan and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. In 1943 she married William Ewing Bennett. The marriage lasted 22 years and produced four children. She was employed at Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 14 years. Upon retirement in 1991 she moved to Frankfort. Skip loved flowers and gardening, music, nature, reading, painting, her children, grandchildren and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Judy of Portage, William (Andrea) of Mackinaw City, Anna of Richmond, Calif., and Barbara of Monticello, Utah. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nathan Bennett of Mackinaw City, Emmy Patterson of Lindon, Utah, and Walter and Marlana Patterson of Monticello, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard; and her grandson, William Patterson. According to her wishes, no funeral services will be held. Friends may make donations in memory of Skip to one of the following organization: Interlochen Public Radio, "Skips Garden" The Frankfort Library or your local Humane Society or animal rescue organization.
