Alice Mae Albin, 81, of Fredonia, formerly of Chanute, died Fri. Jan. 3, 2003, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation of Fredonia.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1921 in Eureka, the daughter of Jess Gulick and Dora (Parsons) Gulick.
She grew up in Eureka until the age of 16 when she moved to Toronto, then in 1966 she moved to Chanute from Buffalo.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Albin on July 7, 1941 in Eureka.
She was a C.M.A. and worked at Arolyn Heights, Neosho Manor and Heritage Nursing Homes, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Peace and Progress Unit, Chanute Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth J. Albin of Fredonia; eight daughters: Marjorie Sanders, Anne Kavanaugh, Gracye Powell, Alice Gulick, Marylin Hudson, Jeanette Pruitt, Martha "Marty" Wooten, and Greda Gericke; three sons: Kenneth Oliver, Danny Gulick, Fred Albin; four brothers: Wayne Gulick, Calvin Gulick, Marion Culick, and Shirley Gulick; three sisters: Lucille Gustin, Julia Armstrong, and Wilma Mackey; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Kay Freeman and Connie Sue Albin; one granddaughter Janet Pruitt; two sisters Margaret Gulick and Jaunita Albin; three brothers: Cecil Gulick, Charlie Gulick, and Floyd Gulick.
Funeral services were held Tues. Jan. 7, 2003 at the Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel with Rev. John Bliss officiating. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.
