Mary Ellen Fletcher Adrain, 70, of Boyce, Virginia, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mrs. Adrain was born April 20, 1937 in Loudoun County, Virginia, the daughter of Isaac Walter and Ruth Loy Fletcher.

She attended school and church in Loudoun County.

She was a co-owner of B & M Carpets in Winchester. She had worked as a cafeteria worker with the Loudoun County and Clarke County Public Schools.
She married Samuel Robert Adrain on December 27, 1955 in Herndon, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Kelley Adrain and Donna Adrain, both of Sterling, three sisters, Hattie Melton of Strasburg, VA, Lucille Osborne of Winchester, VA, and Janie Delph of Mt. Airy, NC; her mother-in-law, Eugenia Adrain of Berryville, VA; niece, Sandra Hottel of Philomont, VA; two cats, Krisi and Baby; and many other family and friends.
A son, Robert Michael Adrain and two sisters, Ruth Landon and Judy Ely, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in the Sterling Cemetery in Sterling, VA with John Gindlesberger officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or to March of Dimes, Attn: DRFR, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
