Westphal Body Arrives Tonight, Funeral Monday
The body of Herman Westphal, who died at Ypsilanti, Mich, will arrive
tonight on the limited train over the Chicago North Western and will
be taken to the Urbanek and Wattawa chapel from where the funeral will
be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services will be in charge
of Rev. Karl Machmiller of the Lutheran church and burial will be at
Evergreen. Herman Berndt of Fond du Lac, a brother-in-law of the
deceased, will arrive here with the body.
Herman Westphal was born in this city February 9, 1877 and was forty-
eight years of age. He was a teacher in the vocational schools at
Milwuakee for several years and at one time was a member of the staff
of the old West Side high school. His first wife died a number of years
ago and he was lately married agin, the widow and two daughters, Ruth,
at home and Eunice, who teaches school at North Lake, Wis., surviving
him. Mrs. Herman Berndt, a sister, and his mother, Mrs. Bertha Westphal
who makes her home with Mrs. Berndt at Fond du Lac, also survies him.
