BERTHA ROCKHOFF
Mrs. William Rockhoff, nee Bertha Gerpheide, 86, wife of a former Manitowoc
clothing store proprietor, died Sunday at Detroit, Mich.
Mrs. Rockhoff was born in 1865 at Manitowoc where her husband later operated
the clothing retail firm of Gerpheid and Rockhoff on South Eighth street. The
couple left Manitowoc in 1908 and moved to Fostoria, O., where Mr. Rockhoff
established an aluminum foundry. He later retired and moved to Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Survivors are her husband; three sons, Bet and Lisle, both of Detroit, and Roland
of California; sister, Emma of California; one grandchild.
The casket will arrive at Manitowoc Tuesday afternoon. Friends may call at the
funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
